Terms and Conditions
The following Terms and Conditions are the basis upon which LC Driver Training (‘I’, ‘my’, ‘our’, ‘we’, ‘us’, ‘instructor’) offers driving lessons, training, and tuition to you (‘your’, ‘learner’, ‘learners’). By booking a driving lesson with LC Driver Training, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. Any changes/revisions to these Terms and Conditions will be advised.
General Conduct
I will be courteous, polite, tidy, and punctual. I will behave in a professional and ethical manner at all times. My training car will be well maintained, clean and tidy (weather permitting). My car is fitted with dual-controls and is fully insured for driving tuition purposes. I will not smoke in the training car at any time, nor will I use your lesson time for any other form of business, personal or otherwise, without your expressed permission.
Driving Licence, Eyesight and Fitness to Drive
You must hold a current, valid car driving licence (provisional or full) and comply with DVSA’s guidance on eyesight requirements, fitness to drive etc.
Comfort and Safety
You must inform your instructor of any medical condition/medication that may affect your ability to drive and if this changes. Please also wear suitable footwear and clothing that does not restrict movement.
You must inform your instructor of any motoring convictions. The learner is liable if any are gained on lesson/test, although I will endeavour to ensure this does not happen.
We reserve the right to refuse instruction to anyone we suspect of being under the influence of alcohol, drugs or not in a fit state to drive. No refund or reschedule will be given in this situation.
Punctuality and ‘No Shows’
It is in the learners’ best interests to be punctual. If your instructor is delayed, time will be made up at the end of the lesson, or if not possible, at another time. Your instructor will wait 10 minutes and try to text after 5 minutes. If the learner does not turn up, the lesson will be charged, and lessons may be discontinued.
Payment
Payment must be made, by bank transfer, in advance of any training/lessons. To book a lesson, full lesson fee is required no later than 48 hours prior to the lesson start time.
Cancellations/Postponements
Your instructor will only ever cancel/postpone if absolutely necessary and if the weather is deemed unsafe etc. In this case, your instructor will endeavour to reschedule asap. If the learner cancels with less than 48 hours from the start of a lesson, the lesson fee will still be taken.
If the learner discontinues training/lessons and has paid in advance, usually block booking, the fees are non-refundable once the booking has been accepted by the instructor. However, at the instructors’ discretion, a refund may be due, and they will endeavour to advise/fulfil refund within 14 working days of written notification.
Your instructor cannot be held responsible for any costs incurred as a result of them having to cancel/postpone any lessons for whatever reason.
Driving Tests
In the interests of customer and public safety, your instructor reserves the right to withhold the use of a car for the test if, in the instructors’ opinion, your driving is actually or potentially dangerous and if they feel you are not ready.
Driving test appointments must be discussed with your instructor prior to booking as they may not be able to guarantee to provide a vehicle for the test.
Your Statutory Rights
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions will reduce your statutory rights relating to faulty or misdescribed goods or services. Our instructors have a statutory obligation to provide you with goods and services fit for the purpose for which they were bought and as described. Contact your local Trading Standards Department or Citizens Advice Bureau if you have any doubts about your statutory rights.
